New Zealand Football in collaboration with the six member Federations have designed a new Club Support Programme to help achieve the purpose for football in NZ, to enrich lives and connect people through positive experiences to build strong communities.
The Xero Together Stronger – Club Support Programme provides an opportunity for clubs, regardless of their size or location to;
- increase their governance and operating capability;
- improve their financial and planning processes;
- provide safe environments for all members including children and vulnerable adults;
- understand and connect with their communities with a specific focus on girls and women and diverse communities; and
- of course, provide quality football and futsal experiences to their members including players, coaches, referees and volunteers.
The programme has three complimentary parts to the programme
- Resources (templates and guides)
- Education – As part of the programme, clubs have access to free webinars hosted by NZF, bring in experts both within the football community and external experts to provide online education for clubs on topics that help them perform off the field as well as engage with their own communities
- Accreditation – Clubs can elect to undergo a process, where NZF and Federations checks information related to the clubs governance, finance, policies and community engagement to help the club meet best practice, be sustainable, safe for their members and have approaches to engage with their local community
The accredited system is split over two levels:
- Milestone 1
- Milestone 2 (2024 release)
An accreditation lasts for the three years following the year of accreditation e.g., the accreditation will expire at the end of 2026, for a club who was accredited during 2023.
Through this programme, clubs are united with their community to offer more opportunities for everybody, regardless of ability, gender or ethnicity to play, coach, referee or administer the beautiful game.
