As a two-time Technical Director for the U.S. Women’s National Teams and the guiding force behind their Olympic Gold and Silver victories, as well as a Bronze at the FWWC, April's leadership is unparalleled. Not just a coach, April captained the inaugural FIFA Women’s World Cup Champions, was twice honored as the Division I College Player of the Year, and proudly entered the U.S. Soccer Hall of Fame with an impressive 35 goals in 46 international matches. Beyond the field, April serves as the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee’s portfolio Leader, aiding both men's and women's Olympic teams across seasons. An alumnus of the University of North Carolina, April further honed their expertise with an Executive Masters in Sport Organization Management from the Universite De Poitiers.

Melissa is a professional Football Coach. She holds an AFC/FFA Pro Diploma, working in Football Australia's National Team's Unit since 2016, currently as the Matildas Assistant Coach and U23 Women's National Team Coach. Melissa was also a Senior Experienced Secondary Teacher teaching in both State and Private High Schools across Brisbane for over 20 years.

Melissa has been involved in High Performance football for over 20 years as a scout, analyst and coach in a variety of different settings. She has a playing background at a semi-professional and professional level, and with International age group Futsal teams. Despite this experience at a high level, she believes that her coaching practice is constantly evolving and is committed to her ongoing leadership development to keep improving her craft and supporting the teams and people she works with to achieve the goals.

Ives is very interested in helping coaches learn. He has been a mentor for the FIFA Coach Mentorship Program for 5 years, where he first mentored Stephanie Spielmann (Tahiti) and more recently, Natalie Lawrence (New Zealand).

He also works with the Director of Coach Education in Belgium sharing his knowledge and experience from the field and cooperating on developing coaching methodology. Ives has been The Belgian Red Flames head coach for 12 years and holds a UEFA PRO diploma.

Ives is a continual learner, and has experience as youth coordinator, working across both the boys and girl’s game.

Paul McGuinness has had a long-standing association with football, particularly with Manchester United. He served as a Youth & Reserve player for the club between 1983-1986 & 1989-91.

His academic background includes a BSc in PE & Sports Science from Loughborough University (1985-89). Over the years, McGuinness has held several significant roles, including Education & Welfare Officer, Centre of Excellence Director, Assistant Academy Director, and U18 coach at Manchester United from 1992 to 2016.

He later joined the English FA as a Senior Coach Developer from 2017-2021. In 2021, he took on the role of Academy Head of Player Development at Leicester City, a position he held until 2022. Currently, he operates McGuinness Football Consultancy.

With a strong passion for football, Youssif pursued a career in sport after working in the engineering field for a number of years. His focus is on player and coach development from a pedagogical perspective.

Youssif has coached at grassroots and elite youth level for over 12 years, holding an AFC/FA B Licence. He has frequently traveled abroad to further his sporting education and experience including attending seminars with UEFA Pro License candidates and has also worked in match analysis with Granada CF in LaLiga.

Youssif holds an MBA in Sports Management and is currently completing his PhD in the field of Curriculum Development at Victoria University whilst holding a Lecturing position at Western Sydney University. He has also presented at national and international conferences on football curricula that aim to develop talent. His work thus far has been noticed by professional clubs and national federations, including FIFA.

Ben is a young football coach based in Townsville, Australia. Previously working as a tutor in sport coaching at the Queensland University of Technology; focusing on ecological understandings, he currently works as Health and Physical Education teacher. He is currently doing his A Licence with the Australian FA. He runs a Youtube channel, ‘Opposite Direction’ making short educational videos about football coaching. Ben puts a lot of his understanding and knowledge down to the people he has connected with and been influenced by during his coaching journey. Ben credits mentors such as Deportivo La Coruña's Jose Barcala, former professional player, Remo Buess, ecological psychology expert, Dr Ian Renshaw & his first major influencer, David Da Silva. Holding a Bachelor in Exercise Science and Physical Education and furthering his studies with a currently paused masters in Ecological Psychology, Ben is always working hard to further understand the player development process.

Doug Lemov is the author of several books on teaching and coaching including The Coach’s Guide to Teachinga nd Teach Like a Champion (now in it’s 3rd version). He has worked extensively with school systems around the world and had provided support and guidance to the national rugby teams of England, Australia and Scotland as well as the US Soccer Federation, the English FA, and the Premier League.

Tanya has a keen desire to help develop herself, players and staff in the environment she is working within. She has a UEFA Pro licence, a diploma in football management, and a Psychology degree and continues to seek professional development from both internal and external environments. She was a dual career athlete studying whilst playing at the highest level in both Australia and England, before transitioning across to coaching at the end of her playing career.

Having worked in England for the last 8 years within the WSL, Tanya has won three FA cups and Two WSL league titles with current champions Chelsea, as well as experience within the Champions League. She has had extensive experience at both domestic level in Australia and England, as well as recently being appointed as the Senior Women’s Manager for Northern Ireland.

Tanya has developed her own understanding of her leadership style across her coaching journey, and having experienced many different high performing environments, is always looking to develop and evolve to be the best version of herself she can be, as well a share her learning with other coaches on their journey.

Pascal Zuberbühler, a former professional goalkeeper, has represented clubs like Grasshoppers-Club Zurich, FC Basel, and Fulham FC, earning 51 caps for Switzerland and playing in UEFA Euro 2004, the 2006 FIFA World Cup, and UEFA Euro 2008. Post his playing career, he transitioned into coaching, serving the Philippines national team and Derby County. Since 2017, Zuberbühler has been a pivotal figure at FIFA, holding roles such as Senior Football Expert and responsibility for goalkeeper coach education. He also provides expert analysis for the Swiss Super League and Champions League on the Pay-TV channel Blue.

Steven is based in Auckland and works in Sports Management as the Clubs and Leagues Manager for Oceania Football Confederation.

Steven has been part of the ICCE / NCDA Coach Developer Academy, as well as the Sport NZ Trainer and Coach Developer Programmes. Previously the National Coach Development Manager for New Zealand Football, Steven has a passion for Coach Development and is actively involved in his local coaching community which compliments his Club Development and Football Business experience in professional, national and confederation-level sporting environments across New Zealand and overseas.

James Bannatyne is a former New Zealand international and professional goalkeeper. One of his sporting highlights was participation in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. He is currently working with Oceania Football Confederation leading goalkeeper development and coach education. James also worked with the Red Bull Global Football project as Head of Goalkeeping with Red Bull Ghana.

Lead Female Sports Scientist, Wellington Phoenix Academy / NZ Football

Issy has been has been involved in high performance football for over a decade as both a player and practitioner. Issy has played in three age group World Cups and was a member of the Football Ferns before she turned her hand towards sport science. She has previously worked with the New Zealand U17 Women’s National Team and now works with the New Zealand U20 Women’s National Team in preparation for their World Cup in 2024. Issy also works full time as the Lead Female Sport Scientist at the Wellington Phoenix Academy whilst completing her PhD which is looking at “menstrual cycle characteristics in elite and academy female footballers in New Zealand”. Issy’s background as a national team player and experiences as both a practitioner and an academic have given her a unique perspective on what it takes to succeed in elite football as a female athlete. She is very passionate about understanding the menstrual cycle and female physiology and as a result, she directs her work towards empowering female athletes to optimise their health and wellbeing for performance.
