Nick began his coaching journey back in 2010 whilst studying a Bachelor of Commerce at Macquarie University. After spending some years coaching in a voluntary capacity,  Nick realised that his true passion was in helping people - and despite his amateur playing background, he had a thirst to assist young players achieve their dreams by helping them on their journey to professional football. Nick progressed into the coaching ranks at Manly United soon after, leading teams in the SAP and Youth League programs, before being asked to join the Sydney FC Academy in 2015. Nick was a part of the inaugural set of staff that helped develop and evolve the Sydney FC Academy philosophy, and began his time at the club as an assistant coach. Nick worked his way through the ranks, being appointed as a head coach in 2018, proving successful in developing talented individuals. Soon after, in 2019, Nick was promoted into the role of Junior Academy Manager, overseeing the staff and players in the Junior Academy  (U13-16s) space, and working as part of a Technical Management team that led the direction and implementation of strategy at the club. All the while, Nick was charged with coaching the club’s U16s team, a group associated with National Team selection on a consistent basis. In 2023, Nick was appointed Academy Manager, overseeing the entire Academy operation from the U13s (first intake) to the NPL (Youth) team. The transition into this role saw Nick move away from coaching on the field in 2024, and instead focus on managing the Academy project at large. As at September 2024, Nick is entering his 10th year at the club, and is most proud to have been associated with the dozens of amazing coaches and athletes that show up to work every day, willing to give all of themselves to a common cause.
